If I was worth over a billion dollars, I would have had SUCH a different wedding. I know, I know- money cannot buy taste and maybe she’s a little developmentally arrested in her teen years as that’s what phase of life made her so famous- but STILL. MSG + Adam Sandler + a raffle = WHAT?

If security and not being outside was the concern, may I present VERSAILLES? LOL. I checked and you CAN rent it for a private event but you have to be very special and very rich (is anyone more those two things than T Swift?) Big enough for a bajillion people (although, I would prefer less…) I mean, if we’re gonna go all Marie Antoinette with it maybe we just do it LITERALLY?

I was picturing something more Princess meets Folklore, although that really doesn’t jive aesthetically- bear with me. Over the top florals, but in a wild english garden way- shades of red, pink, plum and chartreuse. Red is her signature color anyways- why ignore it (I sound like Elle Woods). Amazing layering patterned china, sumptuous linens and TONS of candlelight. This Elie Saab Couture gown would have been SO perfect on her- with a signature red lip of course, and then this cute Oscar de la Renta short lace number for dancing with some Louboutins.

A vision board quickly rendered….

Using some hints from her actual wedding, the invites could have used a hand painted landscape- but as envelope liners closed with wax seals. Favor boxes could have been embroidered linen, guest could be given fans for the heat (maybe embroidered lace instead of these paper ones I show here, referencing her handkerchief favors….)

Kinda this vibe by Blossom Events– elegant and fancy but then transforms into a dance club in an unexpected way? Just a thought… :)

Fashion Friday: 8 Great Summer Outfits https://elementsofstyleblog.com/fashion-friday-8-great-summer-outfits/ https://elementsofstyleblog.com/fashion-friday-8-great-summer-outfits/#comments Fri, 03 Jul 2026 19:17:37 +0000 https://elementsofstyleblog.com/?p=64572 Last weekend I decided I hated all my summer clothes. I think for a long time I’ve been trying to find “my style” beyond classics and tried too hard to look like someone else- someone sexy, or funky, or cool, colorful or minimalist. In truth, I like outfits from all those categories, but right now what I want to feel when I’m in my clothes is confident and COMFORTABLE. Classic with a little twist now and again. And to dress for me and no one else’s gaze. As I said the other day, maybe it’s the higher dose of HRT or maybe I’m finally maturing into myself, but I want to enjoy more, worry less and focus on what matters and finding a feeling of ease- in my body, mind AND clothes. So watch my Poshmark for a slew of stuff being shed from my closet to make room for more things that speak to me at this age! :)

As I plan (and shop) I pulled together eight looks I’d love to wear this summer. I can’t afford to buy them all, but there are some sure faves here!

CLICK EACH IMAGE FOR THE LINKS!!

Have a wonderful Fourth of july weekend everyone!!!

XOXO

Fashion Friday: Golf & Tennis Looks https://elementsofstyleblog.com/fashion-friday-golf-tennis-looks/ Fri, 26 Jun 2026 01:27:20 +0000 https://elementsofstyleblog.com/?p=64550 I mentioned this topic a few weeks ago and a lot of you said you’d love to see tennis and golf outfits for the summer! I have yet to play any of either, but hope to get out on the court and greens soon! Different clubs have different rules for attire, so for golf I tried to keep things collared, and tennis offer some good “tennis whites” options!

All links (plus more items not shown) located HERE!

  • I personally use this golf bag and have this skirt, ADORE this sweatshirt (I have all the colors) and bought Andrew these tees (the box is both funny and great for keeping tees organized an from stabbing you when you reach into your bag!)

Fashion Friday: Shell Inspired https://elementsofstyleblog.com/fashion-friday-shell-inspired/ Fri, 29 May 2026 18:10:39 +0000 https://elementsofstyleblog.com/?p=64435 I have amassed quite the little shell inspired jewelry collection- and it just keeps growing as this season is CHOCK FULL of designers and brands doing shell patterned items! And while I loathe a kitschy “shell-explosion” beach house, a little accent of shell here and there is a happy little flair that works in home and on the body! So while most of this is fashion, I included some really fab shell-inspired home items too. A little shell dish? Shell earrings? It just makes you smile, even if you are nowhere near the shoreline.

Fashion Friday: Six Spring Outfits I Want NOW. https://elementsofstyleblog.com/fashion-friday-six-spring-outfits-i-want-now/ Fri, 10 Apr 2026 17:08:53 +0000 https://elementsofstyleblog.com/?p=64393 I have been selling and donating clothes like it’s my job, making room for clothes that really feel the most “me” now and no longer hanging onto things that used to make me feel good or “maybe” will come back into fashion.

So here are six spring outfits I want to be wearing immediately, if not sooner. I also paired them with some of my most favorite beauty products since the Sephora Sale is going on now and we all need to hop on that…

This is such a timeless, cool look that will never look dated. Chanel inspired without the Chanel price tags- but the same feel. This jacket is amazing and these flats are only $82! I also am very eager to try Emerson Fry’s denim!

With the warmer weather I want to be hiking more- especially with this look (I’ve been dying for this raincoat for weeks). And this face glow suncreen is a MUST.

Spring break is next week for us so this whoooooole situation needs to come with my to Naples. Adore the one piece with equestrian print, and the sandals and bag don’t break the bank! The Gucci Westman bronzing drops are a MUUUUUST. Trust me.

A no brainer everyday outfit that is both comfortable and classically chic. This dress is a no-wrinkle linen, the jacket and bag are Quince and SO affordable and of course my most favorite eyeshadows ever (colors Cashew, Beige, Sakura, Wood, Cedar and Chestnut are my faves).

For a day on the court (or the greens) and then maybe a quick cocktail after, this whole look is so fun- the dress is beyond cute, toss the sweater over your shoulders of course. The sunnies are cheap and some of my faves for activewear.

For an evening look that will leave you comfy (and with room to indulge and relax) this dress is so beautiful (note the big bow at the neck in the back!) This Chris McMillan wand is so genius for pulled back styles to keep frizz and whispies controlled.

Fashion Friday: Packing For Spring Break https://elementsofstyleblog.com/fashion-friday-packing-for-spring-break-2/ https://elementsofstyleblog.com/fashion-friday-packing-for-spring-break-2/#comments Fri, 03 Apr 2026 15:42:57 +0000 https://elementsofstyleblog.com/?p=64388 In a couple weeks we will be heading down to Naples for spring break. A quick and easy getaway (excited to stay at the new Four Seasons there) with the kids to get some sun and sand. Super low pressure, which is what I need in a vacation right now. Here are some things I either AM packing (or am actively thinking about buying to pack) for this trip. A mix of dressy, casual and easy to mix pieces. Shop everything HERE, and check out my resort saves as well for a bigger selection.

  • Of note- that cute zebra bikini- it’s from Aerie which is all 30% off right now! I looooove their sweats too and am grabbing a couple more sets for spring.

Easter Tabletop Ideas https://elementsofstyleblog.com/easter-tabletop-ideas/ Mon, 16 Mar 2026 19:55:49 +0000 https://elementsofstyleblog.com/?p=64376 Sharing four tabletop ideas for any/all of your springtime celebrations! Click here to shop all of my picks!

Table 1: So in love with this tablecloth, which would be great paired with classic cabbage dinnerware and monogram napkins (that look super fancy, but are from Etsy!). Use potted plants as a centerpiece so you can reuse them!

Table 2: So much good cabbage dinnerware in pink and white at Target (I saw it last week, have both in my cart)! Salad plates, wine glasses and napkins are all Target, paired with higher end dinner plates and tablecloth for a high/low mix. Swap in rechargeable mini lamps instead of candles.

Table 3: Starting with a great vintage-inspired tablecloth by Heidi Caillier that I want very badly. Paired with our horn vase and woven charger for a grounding, earthy accent. Add in splatterware to keep it casual and also these Gnori look plates that are MELAMINE!

Table 4: This blockprint tablecloth from Etsy is a stunner. Paired with brown and blue accents and natural materials, as well as a potted fern centerpiece make it springy but also rich.

Fashion Friday: Easter Outfits for Kids https://elementsofstyleblog.com/fashion-friday-easter-outfits-for-kids/ Fri, 13 Mar 2026 16:58:58 +0000 https://elementsofstyleblog.com/?p=64373 Admittedly this is HEAVY on the little girl stuff. Henry is at a stage where he will not let me dress him (except for maybe once in a blue moon, if I’m lucky). Emma is right now ALL about super girly stuff and she also has strong feelings about what she wears. In fact, when I brought down some clothes for her to wear the other day she said, with an eye roll “well you shouldn’t have done that” and marched up to her room to find a new (insane) outfit of her own choosing.

All this to say, these are all wishful thinking items. Perhaps I can wrangle Emma into one of these adorable dresses- fingers crossed. Here’s to hoping your kids are a little more pliable!

You can find all of these clothing links here (along with some outfits for you as well!) The little easter gift links are here (I’ll be doing a tabletop post next week, but you can get a sneak peek of what I’m saving!)

Fashion Friday: CBK Inspired Classic Dressing https://elementsofstyleblog.com/fashion-friday-cbk-inspired-classic-dressing/ https://elementsofstyleblog.com/fashion-friday-cbk-inspired-classic-dressing/#comments Fri, 06 Mar 2026 18:11:09 +0000 https://elementsofstyleblog.com/?p=64356 Like many of you, I have been watching Love Story, for better or worse. Being 46, I remember when these two gorgeous humans were alive and well, and the tragedy that came with their story. I too was absolutely enamored with Carolyn’s simple wedding dress and laid back beauty. Since the show came out I’ve seen TONS of CBK inspired posts, but I am not here to recreate her outfits or try to copy her look. Her look was not a product of labels and stylists, it was just HER. And moreover, her obvious love of classic dressing. There is nothing earth shattering about Carolyn’s style other than, she clearly despised trends or trying to dress like anyone other than herself. And I think that alone is what everyone is and was drawn to.

In the age of influencer culture and our lives being so produced for online consumption, I feel like such a way of dressing has gone by the wayside. Instead of good ol’ classics, we’re inundated with so much NEWNESS daily- and the constant promotion of ways (and products) to recreate ourselves, stand out, be noticed. I too am a victim of this- feeling like I need to dress BOLDER, make more of a statement or advertise my uniqueness when in reality, I’m far happier in what may seem to be “boring” outfits. And I think the attention being cast back on Carolyn feels a bhit like permission to chill out a little, maybe? Look how simply she dressed and she was one of the most lauded fashion inspirations in decades. No way would she have been caught dead with a “Boatkin” or a head to toe look of high fashion labels. And either way is ok, but the focus on simplicity and quality is refreshing right now, at least to me.

So here are some good old classics that will never go out of style and get you through many decades of dressing… and not all wildly expensive, either. Shop all links shown HERE (I added some extras too!)

Fashion Friday: Early Resort Picks https://elementsofstyleblog.com/fashion-friday-early-resort-picks/ https://elementsofstyleblog.com/fashion-friday-early-resort-picks/#comments Fri, 06 Feb 2026 13:18:23 +0000 https://elementsofstyleblog.com/?p=64327 I’m not going anywhere warm until April break, but I’ve already gotten a couple warm weather pieces as a method of giving me some hope in this cold, bleak world… (was that too dark?) Anyways, I’ve been saving the resort items I’ve been loving and rounded up a few for you today – all things embroidery, shells and woven textures. Oh, and studded sandals are gonna be huge, mark my word. I maaaaaaay have treated myself to this epic pair one day when I had the shoppies while simultaneously feeling real down about things and I know they will be my most worn pair. Comfy AND cool.

SHOP EVERYTHING BELOW HERE.

Happy weekend- GO PATS!!!!

My Oscar Dress Choices https://elementsofstyleblog.com/my-oscar-dress-choices/ https://elementsofstyleblog.com/my-oscar-dress-choices/#comments Wed, 04 Feb 2026 16:36:14 +0000 https://elementsofstyleblog.com/?p=64320 I’m starting to see some great red carpet dresses on IG and recent runway shows, and had a bunch of screen shots saved on my phone, so I thought “Why don’t I just do a post about what I’d want some of the actress nominees to wear?” I had a LOT of fun pulling these looks together! Without further ado…

Rose Byrne in this amazing Monique Lhuillier I am obsessed with. I couldn’t decide on Elle Fanning – I love the Tiffany high jewelry necklace of the second outfit (Valentino dress – obviously with NO red tights or shawl), but the first dress better (also Valentino).

For Teyana Taylor I LOOOVE the idea of her in a leopard print like this Elie Saab (could leave the shawl and just do this insane Louis Vuitton bib necklace!) or this drapey beaded Elie Saab. For Kate Hudson, I think she looks amazing in dressed up boho looks, so either of these Elie Saab gowns would be BANANAS. For Emma Stone I could SO see her in this Jenny Packham jeweled sheath dress with short sleeves (her short hair would look perfect). But I also could see her go full femme in this incredible Monique Lhuillier!

I think this Valentino (NO GLOVES!) would be SO SO good on Jessie Buckley, especially with turquoise sculptural earrings. And this black and cream ballgown by Carolina Herrera would look so striking with a red lip and big diamond earrings. I am fully obsessed with this look for Amy Madigan (again, Monique Lhullier)- I love the sheath style with the modern tunic style embellishments. Add a really amazing statement cuff and BOOM!

This French Terry Park Slope (the OG Dudley Stephens silhouette but in a light sweatshirt material) in black with camel stripes is an instant closet staple. Can be dressed up or down, is comfy and cozy but not too heavy – I just love it!

Also, we hear you on the leopard print Finlay pullover – we are hoping to restock later this year and even introduce a few tweaks to the designs – hope to have more to share on that soon! In the meantime, it looks like there are a few of the Kids Wellesley Pullover left!

Can you EVEN??
